Officials and event planners claim that a lady died over the weekend at the Burning Man arts festival. Although the circumstances of her death were not clear-cut, police enforcement admitted that an inquiry is under way to try to determine what happened leading to her death.

The website of the festival states that the emergency services team found 39-year-old Kendra Frazer, identified by the Pershing County Sheriff's Office, unresponsive at almost 11:30 a.m. on Sunday morning, the first day of Burning Man's weeklong event schedule.

Although they tried a lot to save the woman's life, the rescuers were finally not successful. Sheriff's authorities ruled her dead upon their arrival at the site.

Burning Man's emergency dispatch told Pershing County Sheriff Jerry Allen about "the potential death of a participant" at the event many minutes after she was found unconscious. The territory of Pershing County Sheriff Allen is mostly 45 miles from the isolated Black Rock Desert in Nevada, where Burning Man is hosted.

The sheriff stated in a statement, "Deputy responded to the provided address and confirmed the death of a female participant." He said the agency would keep looking into her death until an autopsy finds the official cause and manner of death. CBS News asked the Pershing County Sheriff's Office more information; however, no reply was obtained.

The woman's relatives and friends were sent sympathies by the sheriff and event planners. Organizers warned that "many in our community will find this news difficult" and that members of Burning Man's crisis response team as well as desert stewards would be on hand around-the-clock to provide peer support.

"Our staff's and community's safety and well-being come first," they said. "We are totally working with the local authorities as they look at this occurrence." Investigating all deaths under its purview, the Pershing County Sheriff's Office is To honor the privacy of the grieving family, we will not be sharing any details at this time.
