Medical insurance in the USA is not usually sold with a definite cap on expenses. Because most everyone wants their life saved so matter the cost. Instead you buy it by how much is the deductible and copay. That is, a policy that does not require you to spend even a dollar more will be more expensive. When I lived in the USA, I got a moderate price policy where I had to pay 20% of the cost of every medical bill (called a co-pay), $20 to see my primary care doctor and $50 for each ER visit. As well I had a deductible of $3,000 which meant that once the co-pays and other fees reached $3,000 in a year then there would be no more cost to me. So really, you have to decide how well you are. If you are very fit, get a high deductible and you will get a lower price per month. Of you can pay more and get a lower deductible. You make the choice of how big a deductible your health and income can handle. Read Also : Why is medical insurance in USA so complicated?
