Shows at New York Fashion Week are only open to buyers and the media.
You can choose to go to an industry show in one of two ways: either sign up with the producers of NYFW or get in touch with the design houses directly. NYFW is run by IMG, one of the biggest producers, for example: The NYFW.com Shows. In most cases, IMG registration opens a few weeks before the events. There are several thousand applicants, but only a small number are accepted. Additionally, there may be an application fee. Even if your application is accepted, admission is not guaranteed. It merely enables you to submit an application to various designers for consideration to attend shows.
Open-to-the-Public Shows / New York Prize giveaways and chances to buy tickets from smaller producers, upcoming designers, and sometimes even bigger names are becoming more and more common. Now, even NYFW.com has a paid option.
Tickets for the public are being offered by an increasing number of producers.
