How bad? I had three that could have been much worse than they turned out to be. At night, a labrador dog walked out from between two parked cars. The combination of hitting it and slamming on the front brake as hard as I could cartwheeled the bike and somersaulted me about 10 metres onto the road, landing on my shoulder and broke my left collarbone. The ambulance was there in minutes. The ambulance guys were great, scooped me up and got me to hospital. No other injuries. At night, a car pulled out of a driveway in front of me. I hit the door, catapulted over the car roof and ended up on the other side. No real injuries. At night, a car was stopped at a stop sign at the street on my left. I thought she was stopped and had seen me coming on her right. She hadn?t, and pulled out just as I was passing in front. This flung me and my pillion about 20 metres down the road. I had a big gash on my leg, perhaps from hitting her number plate. No other injuries, but the bike was so far under the car that the car?s front wheels were off the ground. That was my Dad?s bike. The insurance company wrote it off and paid out, and my Dad bought it back for $10 and rebuilt it. I won?t ride now. Too many things can go wrong that aren?t your fault, and the chance of survival is too low, and I have used up all of my spare lives. Read Also : What made you stop riding a motorcycle?
