Mostly because they've realized what the people want. Pretty much all Western European countries have realized that but Denmark and the other Nordic countries have really done well in making sure what the people want is what they get. Stuff like free college, good universal healthcare, long paid leave, a fair poltical system that makes sure all voices are heard and much more is what Denmark has done. Denmark wants the people to be happy and they've capitalized on that.
