Nikki Haley is an American politician who became the governor of South Carolina from 2011 to 2017. She became the United States Ambassador to the United Nations for two years from January 2017 to December 2018. She was also once a president of the National Association of Women Business Owners. In 2017, she became the first Indian American member of a presidential cabinet.

Haley is a candidate in the 2024 Republican Party presidential primaries for president of the United States in the 2024 U.S Presidential election. She is campaigning in February 2023. On 14 February, 2023 she announced her candidacy. Haley is the first woman of color who is a major candidate for the Republican presidential nomination. The first was Angel Joy Chavis Rocker. She was a school counselor from Florida who came up in the 2000 presidential race.
The next US presidential election is to be held on 5 November, 2024. She is the third Indian-American to stand for the US presidency in 3 consecutive election cycles.

According to White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, there have been remarks like these before also. People have said that the Presidents in 2020, 2021, or 2022 were not capable. But Haley says that the chaos should be left behind and we should start to think about the future. There has to be change in many areas. We have to stop inflation from rising. The Republican Party needs to bring communities with it. Nikki Haley says that their party is about fighting boldly for their belief.
The Asian community needs to be brought in. the African Americans need to be brought in. Upliftment of all the people and not just a few people is necessary. We have to start bringing in people. There should be the courage to walk away from the status quo. We need to walk away from the problems of the past.
We need to have a new generation of fighters. Haley said that Americans should reject the old ideas and old names of the past. There has to be a faith in a new generation of leaders. Haley says that she is an agent of generational change who can transform the U.S. She has a vision of a nation that is strong and proud. She said that there should be term limits for members of Congress. There should be mental competency tests for politicians who are above the age of 75.
Haley said that she is the proud daughter of Indian immigrants. She was raised in a small South Carolina town. She is a brown girl who grew up in a black-and-white world. According to her, America is not a racist country.

Haley said that she has a strong commitment to defending American values. She says that our best days are yet to come and we just need to unite and fight to save our country. She said that America is better than the concerns that we have today.
