These fall mason jars may be painted in a matter of minutes, and they will look fantastic in any home that is decorated in a rustic style. A mason jar and burlap are two of my favorite things. These two elements are brought together in this craft idea to create a stunning centerpiece that is ideal for a Thanksgiving meal or a dinner party celebrating the fall season.

In order to spell the word "FALL," I utilized these jars; however, you are free to modify the language on this one as well. As an illustration, several jars that spell out the word "THANKS" would be wonderful additions to your Thanksgiving table. As an additional option for a Christmas display, you might alter the colors and spell out the word "JOY." After gaining an understanding of this method, you will be able to create painted jars for each and every occasion!

It is important to remember to keep the canning lids from your mason jar projects so that you may construct these gorgeous pumpkins made from mason jar lids for the fall season.

How to Make Fall Mason Jars

  • Start by painting your jars with the chalk paint. You will want to make sure the jars are clean and dry. I prefer to clean mine with rubbing alcohol and allow them to dry before painting.

  • Set aside the jars and let the paint to dry.

  • Cut the burlap ribbon into 11 1/2 inch long pieces.

  • Use the black paint to stencil the letters onto the middle of your burlap strips.

  • NOTE: The stencils I used are a layer stencils so each one needs to be done twice. You may use a standard stencil if you would like.

  • Allow your burlap pieces to dry.

  • Once everything is dry, put the burlap strip over the jar and fasten in the rear with some hot glue. Repeat for all four jars.

  • Then toss in some fall blossoms to finish your presentation.

1. Cover the work area you’ll be using to construct this fall Mason jar décor with spare paper or newspaper.

2. Using a foam paint brush, paint each Mason jar a different color (one orange, one yellow, and one brown).

3. Allow jars to dry.

4. Apply a second layer of paint to each jar.

5. Allow jars to dry.

6. Use a piece of sandpaper to softly smooth off streaks of paint on each Mason jar. The idea here is to create a rustic vibe.

Tip: Don’t have sandpaper? You may use a nail file instead.

7. Using a hot glue gun, gently glue the end of a length of twine onto the rear of each Mason jar, right below the rim where the lid would screw on.

8. Wrap the thread around the Mason jar five times, just below the rim.

9. Cut the string, and bind the loose end using hot glue.

10. Fill each Mason jar with fall flowers, and enjoy your DIY fall décor!
