There are significant spoilers for "Bridgerton" season three ahead.

After much anticipation, Benedict Bridgerton's season on "Bridgerton" is finally here.

Part two of the third season of the Netflix series, which followed the romantic journey of Luke Newton's character Colin Bridgerton and Nicola Coughlan's character Penelope Featherington, was released on Thursday.

"Bridgerton" indicated strongly that Benedict, the second-eldest brother, would be the major character in the next season while also providing Polin a happy ending.

Here is everything we currently know about season four.

Season 4 will center on Benedict's love story

In the season finale, Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) informs Benedict that she would only be gone till the next year as she gets ready to go to Scotland with Francesca Bridgerton (Hannah Dodd), John Stirling (Victor Alli), and Michaela (Masali Baduza).

"Do you think Mama would ever let me miss her Masquerade Ball?" she asks.

Refusing to settle down completely, Benedict says, "I will be there, hiding out behind a mask, avoiding eligible ladies like the plague."

That not-so-subtle moment was a reference to "An Offer From a Gentleman," a book in Julia Quinn's "Bridgerton" series, written by Benedict.

Benedict meets Sophie Beckett, a lady, during a masquerade ball in the third novel that is reminiscent of "Cinderella". He has no idea that Sophie works as a servant for Araminta Gunningworth, her harsh stepmother. By the book's finale, they had declared their love for one another and tied the knot.

In season four, Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan will return to their respective roles as Colin and Penelope Bridgerton.

Although they "don't know anything about it," Coughlan and Newton will make a comeback in season four, according to TheWrap. Showrunner Jess Brownell, meanwhile, expressed to the magazine her desire for the two to stay on the program beyond season four.

"We will definitely hope to bring them back in future seasons because I think there's more story there," she said.

In a similar vein, Newton said to Teen Vogue that he intends to remain on the program permanently.

"I'm very involved with the show... I simply enjoy the people, as I've mentioned before," he said. I adore what I do for a living. I can't see leaving my position in the program because I adore it. All I want to do is wrap up the story. I would argue that season four still has issues that need to be resolved, which is why I am there.

Season four is what showrunner Jess Brownell was working on when she said as much in a mid-May interview that was published by Town & Country.

"We've broken out the whole season and are finalizing the scripts, and I'm super excited about where we're headed," she said.

Refinery29 was also informed by Brownell that she did not yet know when the next episodes will be released.

"We're still making sure that we write the best possible script that we can before we start production," she said.

The actress Adjoa Andoh, who plays Lady Danbury, said in a post-mortem interview for the third season that production for the fourth and fifth seasons is scheduled to start "sometime in the autumn."

This implies that "Bridgerton" won't likely make a comeback until 2025, at the latest.

Netflix is now offering all of the third season of "Bridgerton" for streaming.
