By Big Hit Entertainment and HYBE Labels, Kim Namjoon, formerly Rap Monster and known by RM, is a South Korean rapper, songwriter, producer, and composer. He is well recognized as the leader of the global sensation boy group BTS and the primary rapper.
Born September 12, 1994 under the name Kim Nam-Joon (김남준), RM is Early on, RM has always been fascinated in hip hop music and poetry, which helped him to develop his own love of writing lyrics and melodies. RM kept following his music, developed as an underground rapper, and tried out other entertainment businesses. Following a recommendation from South Korean hip hop musician Sleepy, RM applied and Big Hit Entertainment extended an invitation. RM eventually took onto stage leading BTS.
Known not only in South Korea but all around, RM and the rest of his colleagues went on to become among the most sought-after musicians of their generation thanks to relentless devotion and hard work.
In 2015 RM unveiled his first solo mixtape, "RM." He said in 2017 that his stage name would be RM instead of Rap Monster and said his new name, "could mean anything you want to," like Real Me.
