I enjoy organizing my daily clothes; I consider the activities I have scheduled, the weather, how I may mix and match items, and naturally the spirit of London's fashion culture. I'm happy to offer a round-up of wardrobe suggestions for every season as I always receive requests about what to wear in London (verses Paris or New York City). I usually adhere to neutral color palettes, timeless styles, and layering as London fashion seems to lean somewhat more buttoned-up, traditional, and polished.
What Should I Wear in London?

I cannot discuss London packing without considering the city's well-known erratic climate. London, like New York City, has all four seasons, hence while choosing what to wear, consider the temperature and weather.
Independent of the season, one item I always make sure has on my London packing list is a decent packable umbrella. The number of times the forecast has predicted bright sky only to be greeted by rain is beyond count. Particularly in London, I feel it always advisable to be ready.
What should one wear in London during spring?
Striped Cardigan
I usually pack stripes for Spring. A classic and a terrific technique to quickly accentuate an outfit are stripes. Perfect layer for cold Spring days is a lightweight striped cardigan or knit jacket piled over a t-shirt or dress. Above is a knit jacket from one of my favorite British companies, Boden. I also reach for the J. Crew Emilie striped sweater jacket very frequently. I score one size in both designs.
Underlay calls for the M.M. LaFleur Leslie t-shirt. Not stretching or bunching after a few wears; it appears more sophisticated than your typical shirt and has held up well over the years! It also travels really nicely; that is, it does not wrinkle readily. My size in it is M.
When heading to London, you really must have comfortable footwear. Adding to my outfit, these Veja sneakers are really nice.
Leather Hoodie
My usual nighttime layer for cool Spring evenings is a leather jacket. For cocktails and supper out, I find it looks very elegant covered over a silky dress. I had years of loving J. McLaughlin leather jackets; this leather moto jacket is somewhat comparable and has evolved into a wardrobe must.
Long Sleeves Dress
Since it's not quite warm enough for naked arms, I always bring a long sleeve dress for my Spring visits to London. Although the dress above is sold out, I also own and love a shorter version. Given the button-front, I calculated two sizes.
For my trip to London recently, I packed a long sleeve shirtdress from Reformation. It was the ideal weight and comes black and white. I advise sizing up minimum one size.

Trousers And A Lightweight Jacket

This is the simple wardrobe formula you should use for what to dress in Spring in London! Easy of my favorite lightweight, cropped woman coats in my closet is this Ba&sh Paris Meredith Jacket. This lovely ecru hue looks effortlessly trendy and fits Spring in London well. Over the years of ownership, I have dressed it oh so many different ways. I run in a size M.
Here I have matched it with my reliable J.Crew pants, particularly for travel. I swear by them. They are really wonderful; I have even worn them on the aircraft; they wash and pack brilliantly! Though I appreciate that these two adaptable pieces might go with different things in my luggage, I really enjoy these two together. I sized these pants at an eight.
Midi Dress With Cropped Tweener Jacket
Over a midi dress, plus the all white/cream monochrome look always makes me feel like Elizabeth James from The Parent Trap, another way I love to style the Ba&sh cropped tweed jacket.
I prefer to lean toward neat, tailored appearances while I'm in London, hence this outfit seems appropriate. My particular favorite is the STAUD Wells Dress; although Spring is too cold to wear it with bare shoulders, I believe this is a great way to accessorize it and truly accentuate the voluminous skirt. I advise sizing according to the style. I set my score at 8.
I recently sent my Spring packing list for London, which emphasizes light layers, beautiful feminine dresses, and springtime coats for chilly days.
Denim and Ballet Shorts
It's hardly surprising that ballerina flats made the list when I recently revealed my best shoes for European travel. For London, particularly for milder Spring temperatures, I always carry a pair of ballet flats. I outfit them in anything from jeans to gowns. Given my large collection of jeans, I created a comprehensive page on my best and most often used pairs!
I can suggest them for their comfortability if you're seeking for a reasonably priced dupe for the Chanel ballerina flats—one of my favorite purchases. Regarding style, these also fit really well.
White Dress Accompanied By Woven Accessories
I usually carry at least one lovely white outfit for my Summer visits to London. I possess this same cotton eyelet dress even though it is sold out. To finish the outfit, I decided to wear my own with a woven bag and hat!
I usually find Mango's range to be nice if you're seeking for a woven bag that won't break the budget.
