Due to the success of its first "in house" camper van in Switzerland, Renault decided to introduce a new model based on the most recent Trafic in other nations, such as France and Belgium.

As a result, the all-new Renault Trafic SpaceNomad is even more well-equipped and designed to satisfy consumers who are itching to escape from everything and are more desperate than ever for independence. Additionally, it has a solar panel on the open top for added autonomy. The Renault Trafic Range's Business and Launching Manager, Caroline, explains why it was a logical addition to this vehicle.

A Severe Case of Wanderlust

As Caroline states, "Many people are longing for freedom after the pandemic, when we were all unable to travel." People are showing a desire to travel, enjoy their independence, and re-establish connections with nature, their loved ones, and themselves.

As a result, converted vans with lifting roofs are currently more common than before. Compared to RVs, they are smaller, easier to park, and more agile. They are as convenient as a car but you can cook and sleep in them, even in the middle of nowhere, with no limits.

An Integrated Solar Panel for Increased Independence

According to Caroline, the top-of-the-line solar panel is standard and satisfies consumer demand for extended time off the grid while also encouraging more conscientious travel.

The All-new Trafic Space Nomad's solar panel charges the auxiliary battery that runs the refrigerator, water pump, and lights. It is incredibly thin to prevent the vehicle from getting taller. It increases the battery's 48-hour charge time to 72 hours! Therefore, if you would want to travel the mountains or countryside for a little longer, stay an extra day, or anything unforeseen turns up, there is no problem. The sun's rays are all you need.

An Elevating Roof to Create More Living Space

The roof's solar panel isn't the only feature that gives users of the All-new Traffic Space Nomad additional autonomy; it also has USB ports so that cyclists and hikers who use connected watches, satnavs, and the like can start their journey the following morning with their device fully charged and its own LED lighting to read late into the night.

This additional living space is crucial when you're parked, but it has little effect when you're driving because, when folded down, it is quite thin, barely altering the vehicle's behavior on the road and consuming less fuel. You only need the additional freedom and total tranquility to experience ideal happiness far from anything. And some sunshine.

Pilote Accepts the Task of Conversion

The brand-new Trafic The SpaceNomad is manufactured at Renault's Sandouville, Normandy, facility in France. At its facility close to Angers, Pilote handles the conversion, including the pop top and solar panel.

Pilote has been converting Renault Trafic vans for more than 40 years and has 60 years of experience as a recreational vehicle specialist. To satisfy Renault's exacting standards for quality, the All-new Trafic SpaceNomad had to adhere to a strict set of requirements.

It takes nine days to completely transform an All-new Trafic into an All-new Renault Trafic SpaceNomad. In addition to the adjustable roof, it features a 49-liter refrigerator, a two-burner cooktop with piezo ignition, a sink with an integrated tap, a drinking water tank and a wastewater tank, a foldable table that can be set up indoors or out, a shower head at the back, a large 4-square-meter awning, and 250 liters of storage space.

New Renault Trafic SpaceNomad vans are being produced at Pilote's facility close to Angers. The conversion of the van takes nine days to finish. Pilote has taken a significant step in terms of production rate. Four years ago, it could produce 200 automobiles annually; in the next six months, that number will rise to 200 vehicles every month. Sufficient to meet demand for the brand-new Renault Trafic SpaceNomad!
