The uprising resulted in the Peel Commission's formation to divide Palestine; however, the Palestinian Arabs later rejected it. While some lesser Jewish leaders disagreed with the recommendations, Chaim Weizmann and David Ben-Gurion, the two prominent Jewish leaders, embraced them.
